Org charts that keep themselves current

Case studies: all 13 case studies

The situation

The org chart was maintained by hand. One person spent three weeks in every four on it, and another spent a week reviewing it. Even so, it was never current: positions moved, secondments came and went, and reporting chains broke.

What we did

We automated the work: aligning moving positions and secondments, and healing broken reporting chains, with feedback from people in the loop. The same foundation supports recommendations on remuneration.

What changed

The org chart now stays current without manual intervention. When something is wrong, people report it themselves, and the fix flows through.

Why it matters

Weeks of manual effort each month went back to the business, and the chart is now something people trust and correct, not something they work around.
